DESCRIPTION
The Resort is an ancient little village in the heart of the Tuscan countryside, only 27 km away from Florence.
It consists of rooms, junior suites, suites and villas with private pool recently restored in the typical and authentic Tuscan style.
The 200 ha estate also includes a renaissance Villa of the 15th century, where Monsignor Giovanni della Casa was born. He was a descendant of the Medici family, the author of the first book on etiquette ever written in the world " GALATEO " and he rose to fame as Vatican Secretary of State under Pope Paul IV.
The Mugello valley has always been a land of art and culture, it was home of such painters as Beato Angelico and Giotto.
In the wide park of the Country Resort, which is completely fenced , the following services are at the guest’s disposal: a restaurant/wine bar open for dinner from April to October with Tuscan menus à la carte, a Wellness center with gym, sauna, steam bath and Jacuzzi, two swimming-pools (16x8mt) both with whirlpool, atennis court, ping-pong, volley ball court, children’s playground area, barbecue and mountain-bikes.
All the apartments have typical old-style Tuscan furniture, independent access, outdoor-space provided with table and chairs, satellite-tv and telephone with private number.
The reception organises Tuscan cooking classes, Italian language lessons, guided tours, naturalistic excursions and mountain bike tours; in November and December exits with dogs in the estate in search of white truffles are also organised by the reception.
The country Resort is 3Km far from Borgo San Lorenzo, the most important village in Mugello because of its history and services, important for the railway station, from where the city of Florence can be reached and for various little shops and good cosy restaurants.
Not very far away is the golf course (18 holes, 7 km far from the resort ), schools of sailing on the big Bilancino lake ( 10km from the Resort ), flying-area 4 km away and various horse-riding centres.
